If your house is anything like mine in the fall, football season is just starting to kick in. That means that the television is tuned into your local team (it's the Buckeyes for us today) and there is someone sitting in front of that television with the compulsory chips and dip. Maybe a beer. Most likely a beer. I ran into this idea recently and thought what a great idea for a halftime snack! You'll need some not-so-hard-to-find ingredients and it's easy to assemble. |
Spread the mixture on your serving plate in a rectangular shape for the face, and add blue tortilla chips or brown "Beanitos" bean chips for the hair. Use small dollops of sour cream for the eyes, green or black olives for the neck bolts and nose, and refried black beans for the eye color and mouth. I put a small amount in a plastic bag, cutting a hole in the corner to pipe it on the face. That's it.
As you've probably figured out by now, my Frankenguac went to my husband. He cleaned the plate so I guess he approved. Since I used half of the mixture today, I suspect the rest will get eaten during tomorrow's game while watching the Bengals. You can see from the photo that I made a single serving, but imagine a big ol' Frankenguac in the center of your football gathering set-up. Just have a bowl for additional chips nearby and you're set. Who says you can't mix football and Halloween? Not me! |
