1. Melt together chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
2. Stir in marshmallows, vanilla, peanuts, and cereal.
3. Pour into a greased 13"x9" baking pan; press down firmly and evenly.
4. Chill until set; cut into small squares.
*If you like rice crispy treats, you might like these too. Super easy to make. Clean-up is easy if you line the baking pan with aluminum foil before adding the dough. Once the cookies have completely cooled, lift the cookies out, peel off the foil, and cut into bars.
Rice Krispies Treats were invented in 1939 by Malitta Jensen and Mildred Day at the Kellog Company home economics department as a fund raiser for Camp Fire Girls.
A similar recipe that is popular at Christmas time uses chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, Spanish peanuts, and chinese noodles. Scoop out onto a platter and let cool.
